1. How to send money overseas with Overseas Transfer via the Cash Pickup Method on ShopeePay?
Please see below for the step-by-step guide:
Step 1: Click ShopeePayStep 2: Click Overseas Transfer
Step 3: Click Send Money
Step 4: Select the receiving country, currency, and the recipient’s receiving method
Step 5: Enter the send amount (MYR or receiving currency) > Tap Next
Step 6: Acknowledge the Anti-fraud warning
Step 7: Fill in first name & last name in the Additional KYC page
Step 8: Verify your bank account with a one-time RM1 top-up
Step 9: Choose your Payment Method > Tap Pay Now
Step 10: Log in with your bank account username & password (Note: Bank accounts used in this step must belong to you; joint accounts are now allowed.)
Step 11: Once verified, tap OK
Step 12: Add a new recipient’s info or select a recipient from past transactions
Step 13: Tick the Terms and Conditions checkbox > Tap Next
Step 14: Enter your ShopeePay PIN
Step 15: Share the receipt of the transfer with your recipient

- 10-digit MTCN
- Amount to receive
- Sender’s full name as per identity card (Spacing, sequence, and the spelling must be the same as the information keyed in by the Sender)
- Country of origin
3. Where can my beneficiary collect cash?
Your beneficiary can collect cash from any Western Union agent in the world besides Malaysia. Your beneficiary must be prepared to provide his/her valid Identity Card upon the collection of cash.
4. How can my beneficiary collect cash at a Western Union agent?
Your beneficiary must fill out the Receive form with the following information at the Western Union agent to collect cash:
- 10-digit MTCN
- Amount to receive
- Sender’s full name as per identity card (Spacing, sequence, and the spelling must be the same as the information keyed in by the Sender)
- Country of origin
- Provide the original Identity Card

Each Western Union agent location determines its hours of operation, and most maintain extended hours or even stay open around the clock.

You (sender) are required to call Western Union toll-free helpline at 1800-81-3399 or reach out to ShopeePay Customer Service via chat or call to check for further details.
8. Will I receive an SMS notification once my beneficiary has successfully collected the cash from any Western Union agent?
Yes, you will receive an SMS notification from Western Union. You will also receive a push notification via the Shopee app when the cash has been picked up by your beneficiary.
